Estradiol Benzoate
This product is a light yellow clear oily liquid.
Estradiol can promote the normal growth and development of sexual organs and secondary sexual characteristics of female animals. It causes cervical mucosa cell enlargement and secretion increase, vaginal mucosa thickening, promotes endometrial hyperplasia and increases uterine smooth muscle tension. Estradiol also has an effect on the skeletal system, increasing bone calcium salt deposition, accelerating bone sacral closure and bone formation, moderately promoting protein synthesis, and increasing water and sodium retention. In addition, estradiol can negatively regulate the release of gonadotrophin from the anterior pituitary gland, thereby inhibiting lactation, ovulation and secretion of male hormones.
It is used for the aphrodisiasis of animals with no obvious estrus, the retention of afterbirth and the discharge of stillbirth.
Intramuscular injection: one dose, 5~10 ml for horse; 2.5~10 ml for cattle; 0.5~1.5 ml for sheep; 1.5~5 ml for pigs; 0.1~0.25 ml for dogs.
(1)Animals in the early stages of pregnancy are prohibited, so as not to cause abortion or fetal deformity.
(2)Can be used for therapeutic purposes, but must not be detected in animal food.
(1)In small animals such as dogs, it can cause blood dyscrasia, mostly in elderly animals or large doses of application. Initially platelets and leukocytes increase, but gradually progress to platelets and leukocytes decrease. Severe cases can lead to aplastic anemia.
(2)It can cause cystic endometrial hyperplasia and uterine pus storage.
(3)Prolong the estrus period and reduce lactation in cattle. Precocious puberty and follicular cysts may occur after treatment. The above effects are mostly caused by overdose, and adjusting the dose can reduce or eliminate these adverse reactions.
